My Story

Hi

My name is Susan and I'm a member of St Andrew's Church in Bedford. On 26th January I and other members of the St Andrew's congregation are taking part in the St Andrew's Church Sleep Out to raise money for SMART The Prebend Day Centre in Bedford.

SMART works with those who are homeless, socially isolated, rough sleepers or vulnerably housed. They provide a safe space and access to food, hot showers advice and guidance and referral to other support services and 1 to 1 support. 

I am supporting the Centre because five years ago I was nearly homeless myself following a relationship breakdown. Fortunately due to the love of the congregation at St Andrew's Church who offered me a great deal of support I was able to rebuild my life. Many people are not so blessed. I therefore want to help the Centre to continue it's important work.

It would mean a lot to me if you are able to give a donation however small towards supporting some of the most vulnerable members of our community. Thank you.
