My Story

IPV (ipv.com) are supporting the Smart homeless support centres in Bedford by fundraising with a Christmas Jumper Day at IPV on Friday 13th December 2019.

Smart in Bedford support approx. 70 people that are either currently rough sleeping, homeless or socially isolated each day; giving access to showers, clothing, breakfast & lunch, emergency food packs & support to move forward in a more positive way with their lives. Smart support people to access help with healthcare, mental health support, drug & alcohol support, access to accommodation amongst many other things.

Smart's day centre is open 365 days of the year to provide a safe space, with all the facilities above to anyone in need of our support. Sadly, they do not receive any funding for the centre, which costs them in the region of £250,000 per year to run. They rely on donations & grants to allow them to continue to run, but despite best efforts, they are struggling to stay open at a time when their service is more in need than ever.
