Please Donate Now to help the homeless of Bedford this winter.

The year is 2019 – and we live in a country where tens of thousands of people are still homeless. The winter months are the toughest, with biting winds, dampness and frosty conditions making for an uncomfortable and, sadly, life-threatening existence. In 2018, an estimated 726 homeless people died in the UK, a 22% increase on the previous year. With your help, the SMART Prebend Centre can make a difference.

Each year the SMART Prebend Centre asks the community to support the Cold Relief in Bedford (CRIB) appeal. Many donations are made in December, but the cold weather often begins in November and continues well into the New Year. Most households have their central heating on now. Imagine then, yourself or someone you love living outdoors and the challenges and fear that would bring.

The SMART Prebend Centre is open 365 days of the year supporting those who sleep rough, are vulnerably housed and socially isolated. The centre is a place of safety; providing food, warmth, water, showers and a place to rest. It costs over £250,000 per year to keep the centre open and it is entirely reliant on donations and the support of the community. This year we are facing the additional costs of an old building in need of repairs, and we need your help more than ever!

Please help to smash our £60,000 target this year!  Please donate Now.
